ARTIST STATEMENT
My name Kimiya comes from the word “chemistry.” And just as different elements react with one another, my work explores the encounters between color, form, and emotion.
Painting is how I respond to the world. Before I put my feelings into words, I paint them. Since childhood, I have expressed every significant emotion through art, often the ones I was afraid to speak about: love, anger, joy, injustice, grief, and fear. These images, filled with emotion and layered meanings, have always been my secret, and I love witnessing how people respond to them.
Digital painting is my primary medium. I create original works, offer limited edition prints, and work on commissioned pieces such as custom portraits. My practice exists between emotion, intuition, and observation. Through my work, I explore what it means to be human: our bodies, relationships, dreams, and everyday moments. I am particularly drawn to the nuances: the unspoken, the delicate, and the contradictory.
My images speak of intimacy, femininity, shyness, love, and the desire to see ourselves and others in our shared humanity. They do not follow predetermined rules but emerge from an inner impulse. Every artwork begins with a feeling and gradually transforms into an idea.
I work both digitally and analogue. Using tools such as the iPad, markers, acrylic paint, collage, and colored pencils. This diversity of materials is reflected in my subjects as well: intuitive, honest, and deeply personal. Color plays a central role in my work as a carrier of emotion and energy. It has always been an essential part of my life and remains the foundation of my artistic expression.
